WorkN Mobile Platform

WorkN is an on-demand mobile staffing platform used by large enterprise staffing firms and the workers they place. I joined to build the mobile team and platform, and stayed through the company’s acquisition by Avionté, where it became Avionté Mobile.

The Challenge

The platform needed to serve a growing roster of enterprise tenants, but there was barely a mobile team to do it with — two engineers, no delivery process built for that scale, and no clear path yet from a signed customer to a live branded app in the stores.

The Solution

I hired and grew the team from two to eight engineers, and built a delivery process around them: a Scrum and Kanban hybrid shaped to how the team actually worked rather than to a framework. I stayed hands-on across the Android and iOS platform throughout, and carried both the team and the platform through the Avionté acquisition without a break in delivery.

The Outcome

The startup scaled to around 60 paying customers, with roughly 100 apps my team built and managed, and the platform survived a change of ownership intact — it runs today as Avionté Mobile.
